Parking zones
Shared zones
Shared zones are sign posted as "No Stopping/ No Standing areas and are regulated twenty four hours a day seven days a week. They are established to provide a safe area for pedestrians to cross the road and are not a suitable location to drop off or pick up passengers nor as a short-term parking spot.
Pedestrian crossings
Pedestrian crossings are provided to create a safe area for pedestrians to cross the road. Parking in and around them is dangerous because it greatly reduces the ability of drivers to see pedestrians crossing and either slow down or stop.
Double parking
Double parking is very dangerous and inconsiderate to other road users. This restriction is valid at all times.
No stopping/No standing areas
No Stopping/ No Standing areas are marked either by signage or by linemarking of a yellow unbroken line upon the road edge. These areas include areas that are close to intersections and across driveways where access is needed. This restriction is valid at all times, as indicated by signage or line markings.
Bus and Taxi zones
Parking of vehicles in Bus and Taxi zones is both dangerous and inconsiderate to the drivers and passengers of those types of vehicles. This restriction is valid at all times as indicated by signage.
Disability parking
Disabled parking bays are provided for the exclusive use of holders of valid permits only. The restriction on the use of these parking bays is valid twenty four hours a day seven days a week. The permits can only be used when the permit holder is travelling in the vehicle and the permit must be displayed to use these bays.
Time regulated parking
Time regulated parking is shown as a numerical time period such as 1 followed by the letter P and means a maximum of one hours parking after which the driver must leave the area and park elsewhere.
