Bundaberg Botanic Gardens boardwalk renewal project The Bundaberg Botanic Gardens boardwalk (behind Cafe 1928) is due for renewal. The project will include removal of a section of boardwalk to improve the water flow and reduce nutrients in the lake. A new boardwalk will be installed in February 2023.

Barolin Street toilet block, Bundaberg Central Demolition of existing toilet block in Post Office Park next to the Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery (BRAG) and construction of a new unisex four cubicle toilet block with disabled access Demolition and construction have been scheduled for April to June 2024.

Lake Ellen Heritage Hub Park and Playground Concept Plan, Bundaberg South Consultation with the community to develop a Concept Plan to determine what facilities the community would like to see in this area.

The draft Concept Design has been endorsed by Council. The next step is to work on a Detailed Design - completion date to be advised.

Bill Cunnington Fernery, Alexandra Park The community is invited to share ideas for future options for this facility. Following community feedback three conceptual designs have been developed. These options can be viewed in the "Documents" section on the Our Bundaberg Region website

Coastal

Nielson Park Northern Beach Access, Bargara Upgrade to beach access to protect dune system. Project has been submitted to the State Government for consideration and is waiting on further advice. Date to be advised  
Miller Street, Bargara Investigate design for formal beach access. Date to be advised  
Christsen Park, Bargara Investigate turtle friendly light designs for three lights at the front of the Park Date to be advised  
Banksia Park, Woodgate Consultation with the community about what facilities community would like to see in the Park. Funding exists to upgrade play equipment, seating, shelter, pathways and toilet. Upgrades will commence in October 2023 with the final completion date to be advised,

Bargara Views Estate, Bargara Upgrade the shelters, play equipment, picnic shelters, deck in front of the lake and entryways into the estate. Survey provided to residents Tuesday 17 April 2023 for feedback. Survey closed Sunday 30 April 2023. The viewing deck has been upgraded and this section of the project is now complete. Nielson Park, Bargara Development of a Conceptual Masterplan with community consultation on what equipment and amenities the public would like to see in this Park The Nielson Park Draft Concept Masterplan closed for public comment on Sunday 16 July 2023. Bargara Foreshore Weed removal, revegetation and beach nourishment works will be undertaken as part of a recommendation from the Bundaberg Region Coastal Hazard Adaptation Strategy (CHAS) to reduce erosion along select areas on the Bargara coastline. The first stage of works commenced on Monday 9 October 2023 and was completed in October 2023. The second stage of works will start in May 2024 once turtle season has finished.

Moore Park Beach trial night-time closure Following community consultation Moore Park Beach will be closed to all vehicles as a trial between dusk and dawn from 1 November 2023 to 31 March 2024 during turtle season. 1 November 2023 through to and including 31 March 2024. Upgrades to the park commenced Tuesday 23 May 2023 and are expected to be completed in 2024, weather and unforeseen delays permitting.

Access to the park's toilets will remain throughout the project.
