Young People in Sport program up to $300

The Young People in Sport (YPIS) program aims to assist young athletes living in the Bundaberg Regional Council area by providing a grant to assist with the cost of representing Queensland at National sporting competitions or representing Australia at International sporting competitions.

Financial support is based on representation and is allocated as follows:

  • Representing Queensland - up to $300 per athlete
  • Representing Australia - up to $300 per athlete

Applications for the Young People in Sport program are open all year round and must be received 4-weeks prior to the commencement of the sporting event. Please note, the application must be completed by the athlete's local sporting club/organisation of which they are a member.

For eligibility, please refer to the Young People in Sport program guidelines. Please note, athletes selected for school-based competitions are ineligible as per the guidelines and current Community Grants Policy.

Please direct your enquiries concerning the Young People in Sport program to Council’s Sport and Recreation Officer on 1300 883 699 or email at cscd@bundaberg.qld.gov.au

Please note, the Guidelines are currently being updated to reflect the changes in the recently adopted Community Grants Policy (June 2026). The main change reflected is the amount of funding accessible per athlete is now $300.
