Millennium Park

Situated in the heart of Childers is Millennium Park. The small picturesque park provides a walk-through, with a weaving concrete path, from the main street through to Crescent Street and adjacent Apex Tramway Park. There is ample shaded picnic shelters and seating throughout the park, with a large toilet block and change facilities. A great park for the family, with a shaded children’s playground and barbecue area on the Crescent Street side and wheelchair accessibility to the picnic areas. The park features the Kanaka Memorial commemorating the contribution made by the Kanakas in the early years of the sugar industry in Queensland. The main memorial, located on the Churchill Street side, is a three dimensional walk through series of art structures with written text to complete the story. For those travelling through, Millennium Park provides a perfect spot to have a rest stop with plenty of off street parking in both the CBD and Crescent Street and suitable for all size vans and motorhomes.
