C.R. Mikkelsen Park

Immerse yourself in quintessential Aussie bushland, towering gums, grass trees and peaceful birdsong along the shady banks of the Kolan River. Enjoy a short bushwalk which sticks to the high ground, offering impressive views and meandering around a series of steep gullies housing pockets of vine forest. Catch a glimpse of the barrage which provides storage of approximately 4,000 megalitres of water. In 1998 a fish ladder was over the barrage to assist migration for breeding and replenishment of stock. With tables awaiting at either end of this return track, it is the perfect Sunday drive and picnic destination.
