Bundaberg Regional Council has appointed Freyssinet Australia Pty Ltd as Principal Contractor to undertake restoration works on the Saltwater Creek Pedestrian Bridge.
When will the works happen?
Works will be undertaken at the location highlighted in red on the map above. Work is planned to commence late August with estimated completion by December 2026, weather permitting. Activities are expected to be carried out between the hours of 6:30 am to 6:00 pm Monday to Saturday. On occasion, activities may be required outside these hours to accommodate works around tidal movements. Works will be undertaken with changes to pedestrian conditions. The bridge will be closed to all foot traffic, and pedestrians are encouraged to seek an alternate route during the closure period. Access to businesses and private properties adjoining the work area will be maintained during the works period.
Council understands that construction works can cause temporary inconvenience and sincerely thanks the community for their patience and cooperation while these important infrastructure improvements are carried out.
