Woodgate Beach Mothers Day Classic

Organisers of the 2026 Mother’s Day Classic are encouraging Australians to mark their calendars for Sunday 10 May and our own Woodgate Beach will be holding a local event.

The Woodgate Beach event is a scenic 5km coastal walk along the Esplanade, bringing together locals to honour loved ones, celebrate survivorship and support those still in treatment.

Event starts in the Community Memorial Park, with registrations from 8 am and kick off at 9 am.

The Mother’s Day Classic event raises much needed funds for breast and ovarian cancer research and our Woodgate community raised $30,000 over the last two events in 2023 and 2024.

Heart-warmingly this year’s Woodgate Beach organising team are an inspiring group of seven breast cancer survivors who have united to host the Mother’s Day Classic for another year.

Calling themselves the Warriors of Woodgate, the group began as a private Facebook support chat for local women navigating breast cancer.

This year, the team hopes to welcome at least 120 participants and raise around $15,000, supported by strong local sponsorship and business donations.
