25 Years of Australian Service in Afghanistan commemoration

The Bundaberg RSL Sub Branch will host an Afghanistan25 Commemoration Service at ANZAC Park to mark the 25th anniversary of Australian service in Afghanistan.

This significant commemorative event will honour the service and sacrifice of the more than 39,000 Australian Defence Force personnel who served in Afghanistan between 2001 and 2021, as well as the families, support personnel, and those who continue to live with the impacts of their service.

The service will provide veterans, serving personnel, families, Ex-Service Organisations, community groups, and members of the public with an opportunity to reflect on Australia's longest military engagement and recognise the courage, commitment, and professionalism demonstrated by those who served.

Particular recognition will be given to the 41 Australians who lost their lives during the conflict and the many others who returned home carrying the physical and invisible wounds of war.
