Trade waste charges
Below is an explanation of the trade waste charge. This charge is not on all rate notices as it usually refers to commercial and industrial type entities.
Trade waste charge
Trade waste charges are levied by Council upon all non-residential entities discharging trade waste to Council’s sewer.
The basis of this charge is:
a) the volume of trade waste effluent discharged into Council’s sewer system;
b) the content/strength of the trade waste, and;
c) the type or capacity of the pre-treatment device required by the ratepayer to treat trade waste before it is discharged into Council’s sewerage system. For more information view Council’s Trade Waste Management Plan.
