Boreham Park Playground upgrade project, Avenell Heights

Extension and enhancement of play areas in Boreham Park - adventure and water play

Due to recent wet weather, work will be carried out on the playground upgrade on Saturday 10 April and Saturday 17 April 2021. Contractors will be on site at 7am. No machinery will start prior to 7.30am. Work will continue to 3.30pm latest. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Work will be undertaken on Saturday 24 April and Saturday 1 May 2021 to install play equipment, lay steppers, spread and trim soil and complete the irrigation works. No machinery will start prior to 7.30am. Work will be undertaken between 7.30am and 3.30pm. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Additional work will be undertaken on Saturday 8 and Saturday 15 May 2021 to continue upgrades. Contractors will be on site at 7am. No machinery will start prior to 7.30am. Work will continue to 3.30pm latest. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

The detailed design is now finalised.

Construction dates will be April to August 2021, weather permitting.

Alexandra Park toilet block upgrade, Bundaberg West Remove existing toilet block and construct two new toilet blocks.

Work commenced 27 January 2021. Construction is underway. Demolition of the existing toilet block will occur on Monday 22 March 2021 and the new toilet block is expected to open by the end of March 2021.

Figtree Chapel, Bundaberg Botanic Gardens, North Bundaberg

Upgrade will provide a more contemporary space for the community. Seating, lighting, pavers, the lectern and fountain will be removed. New seating and decking will be installed. Area is currently closed for safety reasons while work is being undertaken. Access through the pedestrian gate on Young Street will remain open for most of the project but will require a brief closure.Bookings for this area can be made once the project is finished.

Work commenced 5 February and will continue until 1 June 2021. Bundaberg Now Article
Botanic Gardens playground perimeter fencing, North Bundaberg New fence in front of the nature playground and parallel to the Mt Perry Service Road. New and unified signage promoting the attractions within the Botanic Gardens. Minor work will commence Monday 15 March to excavate footings for feature panels and pour concrete. This work will take approximately one week to allow the concrete to cure and will not impact access to the nature playground or to surrounding roads. End of June 2021 Read more
Bundaberg CBD Tree Planting Project As part of the One Million Trees Bundaberg Region Program select garden beds in the Bundaberg CBD, between Maryborough Street and Tantitha Street will receive an upgrade. Existing vegetation will be removed and replaced with a tree and additional vegetation. Work will occur early in the morning to minimise disruption to customers and businesses. Work is being undertaken in three stages. Stage one has been completed. Stage two is currently underway and is three-quarters completed. End of April 2021 Tree Planting Project
Alexandra Park Shade Sail, Bundaberg West Shade sail to cover the carousel Work commenced 19 April. To be completed by the end of May 2021  
Habitat Estate Park Development, Branyan

Concept design for playground has been finalised for a local recreation park at Branyan as part of a new development. 

Installation of a playground and turf in the new residential estate The Habitat will commence 7 April 2021. A shelter is currently in place.

Go out for tender for the playground in December 2020.

Palm Park Shade Sail, Walkervale Provision of shade over the new playground that is currently being constructed at Palm Park To be finalised in the 2021/2022 financial year

Childers Skatebowl shade sail, Childers New shade sail at the Childers skatebowl Four shade sails will be installed at the landing points on Monday 15 March 2021. The skate park will be closed for safety reasons and will re-open on Friday 2 April 2021.
