Bin Inspection Program - Green Tag

My bin had a green tag, what should I do?

Overall, a green tag means you have done a great job with zero or a very small amount of contamination present. Well done!

If the tag was on your:

Recycling bin (yellow lid)

Congratulations, you are recycling right! View the reverse of the tag to learn more about the recycling process and the good you are doing for the environment.

For even more ways to recycle beyond your yellow lid bin, take a look at our watse and recycling handy guide.

Dispose of the tag in your general waste bin.

FOGO (lime green lid)

FOGO bins are currently only located within the designated trial area. If the tag says:

No Contamination - Well Done! View the reverse of the tag for a reminder of what is accepted in the bin. Remember to dispose of the tag in your waste bin.

Minor Contamination - You're almost there! Remove any contamination mentioned on your tag and view the reverse side for a quick guide of what can go in your FOGO bin for future collections.

For more information on which items go in each bin, take a look at our waste and recycling handy guide.

Download a copy of our A - Z waste and recycling guide here.

Share this information with your household and inspect the bin’s contents before the next service. Dispose of the tag in your general waste bin.
