Bargara Day Respite
A short term break with long term benefits.
Bargara Day program operates every Thursday from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm.
During these hours, qualified staff and volunteers run a quality activities program which includes craft, board games, reminiscing, passive exercises and quizzes. Our focus is on being socially connected.
A delicious morning tea and a light lunch are provided. The day program operates as a site of engagement and meaningful experience for aged people and younger people with a disability. Bargara Day Program provides a safe physical and emotional environment and opportunities to exercise physical, intellectual and social choice.
Carers also benefit by receiving much needed respite from their caring role. The Centre can arrange transport if required, and offers its members many services including hairdressing and referral to podiatry and other allied health services.
Gracie Dixon Respite Centre also runs a Men's Group on Fridays.
