Bundaberg Regional Council Community Financial Assistance

Council is committed to working in partnership with community organisations to further develop our region. We recognise the role that individuals, community groups, clubs and organisations play in helping to build healthier and stronger local communities and promote the wellbeing of our residents.

Council offers a range of financial and other assistance to assist in the provision of Projects/Programs and Events. These include: Micro Grants;Community Grants Program; Special Events; Young People in Sport; Equipment Loan Program; Partnerships and Sponsorships and Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF). Each of these programs are profiled below.

Micro Grant Program - Up to $1,000»

As part of Council's commitment to provide a Safe, Active & Healthy Community Council's Micro Grant program allows for the provision of funds to improve the wellbeing of the community of the Bundaberg Region.

The available financial assistance per micro grant application is up to $1,000.

Community Grants Program  - Up to $5,000»

The aim of the Bundaberg Regional Council’s Community Grants Program is to provide assistance to local community groups/organisations who make positive contributions to the quality of life in the Bundaberg Region.

Organisations can submit one application per funding round in the following categories;

  • Community Development
  • Community Events
  • Sport & Recreation

Special Events Program - Up to $1,000»

Special Events program reflect the philanthropy of the Council and the commitment to contribute funds for Local Community 'Special Events', namely Australia Day, ANZAC Day Commemorations and Community Christmas Celebrations.

Partnerships & Sponsorships Program – over $5,000»

Applications are open all year on a financial year basis until budgeted funds are expended.  Eligible organisations and/or individuals can submit one application per financial year. Over $5,000 in financial and in-kind assistance is available per application

Successful applicants will only receive funding once in the financial year from any Community Financial Assistance Program. (Young people in sport, Micro grant, Community grants, Partnerships & sponsorship program)

Sport Championship Funding Program - Up to $5,000»

The Sport Championship Funding Program aims to support the staging of high level sporting events in the Bundaberg Region. The Program will provide funding for events that are international, national or state in focus, are recognised by the relevant sporting authority and provide an opportunity for talented athletes, officials and coaches to develop their skills through exposure to and participation in these events.  Funding is available to a maximum of $5,000 to any one organisation per financial year. Young People in Sport  - Up to $500»

The Young People in Sport (YPIS) aims to assist young athletes living in Bundaberg Regional Council area by providing a grant to assist with the cost of representing at Queensland/National sporting competitions or representing Australia at International sporting competitions. The Regional Arts Development Fund»

Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) provides support for arts, culture and heritage development activities.

  • Areas of support include:
  • Individual professional development
  • Workshops and master classes
  • Innovative arts, culture or heritage projects
  • Concept development
  • Creative industries development; and
  • Cultural tourism initiatives

Equipment Loan Program»

The equipment available through the Equipment loan program is for use by not for profit/community based or charitable organisations or individuals that demonstrate that the Project/Program and Events has strong community benefit, need and support. All applications must be made using the Equipment Loan Application form.
