Backpacker Information

Welcome

Bundaberg Regional Council extends a warm welcome to all international and domestic visitors to the Region who are broadly referred to as ‘backpackers'.  While many people come to our diverse and exciting part of the world for the fantastic year round work opportunities, they always discover there is more on offer than just casual employment.

Turtle hatchings at Mon Repos, the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef, diving direct from the coastline, visiting the world famous Bundaberg Rum Factory or newly created Hinkler Hall of Aviation, soaking up the sun, sand and surf at our pristine beaches, discovering the country hinterland and heritage townships, sampling the regions tastes and flavors or enjoying the community's hospitality.

Our sub-tropical climate and diverse businesses mean that both employment and relaxation are possible year round.  While we hope you have a pleasant and enjoyable time while in the Bundaberg region, at work and at play, should you have any concerns about your experience the below groups may be able to offer you assistance.
